Famous grandmasters say that it’s not difficult to learn and keep in mind rules of the game, but any one can’t play well and become a master. In Ukraine chess is popular enough. There are more than half a billion people who know how to play this intellectual game. July 20, 2012 fans and admirers of "smart game" celebrated the International Day of chess in Ukraine for the first time. The resolution "On the Day  of chess in Ukraine" was adopted by Verkhovna Rada in November 2011.

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Kiev on the celebration of International Day of Chess and congratulated Ukrainians on that event. According to FIDE data on July 1, 2012 there are 70 international grandmasters (GM), 117 international masters (IM) among men, 25 international grandmasters (WGM) and International Masters (WIM) among women in Ukraine.

This day is celebrated all over the world every year for many years. July 20, 1924 World Chess Federation (World Chess Federation, FIDE) was founded. July 20, 2012 FIDE celebrated its 88-th anniversary.

As a successful businessman in his calculations Kirsan Ilyumzhinov prefers magic of numbers. "88" is his favorite combination.

According to the great scientist and an expert on numbers Pythagoras, eighty-eight is a symbol of wealth, and eight is a symbol of harmony, stability and the number of divine justice. It is known that 88 means the mystery of our life. According to 88 every moment of our life should be in harmony with our body development. One can perceive of 88 higher consciousness may identify racing time in our lives.

All cultures have their own particular interpretation of the value of the number eight. According to Feng Shui the number "8" is a magical and has a great potential. Visually, you can notice that "8" is a symmetrical number, presenting the sign of infinity, which symbolizes  two worlds - the material and the spiritual. In Islam, the world is governed by the throne which is supported by eight angels corresponding to the eight directions and eight letters of the Arabic alphabet. In Buddhism, the number "8" is a unity of all the possibilities.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov embodies all facets of a given number and is successfully implementing all its features creating his personal interpretation of the number 8 at the same time. Very soon it will be possible to bring Ilyumzhinov’s formula of success. Is it just the number 88? Maybe something else is added  to it? Still there is much unknown but the process discovering the formula of success has been started. That’s why we are looking forward to new discoveries!
